(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)Not my argument. I was actually trying to say that people are going to have disparate reactions. My feelings about my father are complex,and some people are going to have reactions like Junior's and some people are going to... not do much.
My point was more like, "You don't know because you've never been put in that position before." Which, judging by the OP's wording, I would hazard to guess is true.
They basically said, "I would never do what Junior did even if my dad were XYZ." And I was trying to say, "Maybe you would. Maybe you wouldn't. It's complicated."
And I likely poorly phrased it originally, or misrepresented myself.
