Look I get that you thought you were helping, but sometimes the best way is to show by example and let the kid figure it out own his/her own.

Plus, how do you know your cousin would have learned his/her lesson if things had gone the way you planned. Kids may be smart, but they can also be stubborn and don't always listen to their elders.

misfire but honestly I don't get why people are so mad about this I really doubt the kid is traumatized over a pokemon battle

I'm not all bent out of shape about it but it does seem bizarrely petty of OP. like, why would anyone give a shit about pokemon enough to come up with a plan to teach their little cousin a lesson by crushing them in battle, and then when that plain fails get buttmad enough to re-challenge them with ridiculously overpowered pokemon to trounce them? not to mention that they ended up beating their cousin in the same manner that they were criticizing so it just seems pointless. who the hell cares about how a little kid wants to play their pokemon game?

...okay? I was just providing an answer as to why some people were side eyeing OP. if I was kind of an immature dick to my kid cousin, I would probably keep it a secret too. I'm sure the kid probably doesn't even think about it though
