so... are we supposed to feel sorry for you or something? coming from someone who used to be shy, there's only one way to get over being shy or socially anxious and that's by interacting with people. sitting around boohooing about how you don't have any friends isn't going to do a damn thing towards helping you make any. what will is actually striking up a conversation with someone, even if it scares you.

if you're going to use being shy/socially anxious as an excuse for why you don't have any fandom friends, then don't complain about it.

Yeah, fuck you with your ableist shit. Don't assume some of us aren't even trying.

DA

I get why you want to call "abelism", but as a person who suffered/suffers from social anxiety, I read this more as just laying out the cold hard truth that the only way to get better is Counseling/Cognitive Behavior Therapy/Exposure Therapy/Meds (YMMV).

Shit still freaks me out, but now I'm able to do it anyway, and guess what? It does "get better"

(and the first 10 minutes is usually the worst part of any scary thing)

And you assume I am not doing that now, right?

that's a pretty hilarious accusation to make, because i have an anxiety disorder. the only way to get over it is to do the things that make you anxious anyway and then realize that nothing horrible is in fact going to happen when you do them. believe it or not, it works.
