It's odd how that storyline is the accepted storyline for modern Dracula adaptations. So much so that if there was a straight from the book adaptation, many people out there who have never read the book but have only watched the cinema and television adaptations would be, "What the devil is this? This isn't canon." (Especially with the unibrow, balding, hairy palmed Dracula. "Hey, that guy isn't even hot!")

Maybe a more accurate book adaptation is exactly what we need after all the ~sexy~ vampires. Not hating on people who like sexy vampires, but I think challenging the notion of sexy vampires vs. human-shaped ticks would be a fun angle.
