(Anonymous) 2013-11-11 01:09 am (UTC)(link)I was in high school when Pokemon-the-show was starting to turn into a big thing in the States, and I was a little bit into it despite having the whole "I'm too old/cool for this" thing going on (which I have since gotten way, way over). My little cousin, who was about seven or eight at the time, was way into the show, the games, the cards, the toys, everything. Vulpix was my favorite, just because I've always loved foxes and I liked its design, and since my cousin was the expert I asked him to let me know if he saw which toy stores were selling the little pocket-sized plastic version. The next time I saw him at a family event he handed me a scuffed, battered, well-loved Vulpix figure and said, "I don't think they're selling Vulpix anymore, so you can have mine."
I still have it in my desk drawer :)
