Except that that's canon. Fans didn't have much of a choice. And even then there are people who assume/ignore the fact that carlos isn't white.

But fanon slash pairings are usually two white guys.

I think the point though is that even if a white/white pairing isn't available, fandom will happily slash whatever is available. Hence, with the story in the secret (I'm not familiar with it) it's likely the two dudes will be slashed anyway.

Except there's plenty of fandoms I've been in where people don't ship characters who got married and had kids together.

It's like people are willfully ignoring the fact that fangirls/boys prefer shipping two white guys together. They say but..., but their evidence to the contrary is like 4 or 5 fanfics featuring white guy/poc guy.

Apparently because they're fond of Turk's relationship with Carla and don't want to break them up. Which I can understand and respect. However, I really wish JD/Turk was a thing. I'd especially love more Carla/Turk/JD OT3 goodness.
