You know what I love about the pit? That it has no tags. Actually that isn't true, it has a small amount of preset tags you can shoose from instead of letting idiots tag-spam. It's got a better layout than AO3 and it doesn't run on SJWs plus it keeps the Superwholock crap isolated. Why would anyone post to AO3?

I agree with you about the tags.

I still post to A03 because there is good stuff there in some fandoms, and it has nice mechanisms for running exchanges (e.g. Yuletide.)

I can't decide if this is your actual opinion, or if it's troll!you. Quick, say something about Agents of SHIELD!

Agents of Shield was shit this week.........I assume anyway. I didn't watch it. I'm told they didn't throw one of the science bunnies off the plane, which strikes me as a missed opportunity. I'm now off to AO3 to write fics on the ThrowingFitzSimmonsFromThePlane and GravityBitch tag.

I genuinely do like the limited tags on The Pit of Voles though, and the iron curtain between x-overs and main fics. The Pit has its faults, and they are legion, but limited tags and x-over segregation are valuable tools that Ao3 really fucking needs.

IMO, the layout in AO3 is pretty much perfect. FF.Net has gotten better but I still find it a lot easier to read fics on AO3.

I definitely agree about the stupid tags though. But the ones that are useful are good so I just don't read a fic that is covered in tag-spam.

I agree that the Tumblr-style tagging can get annoying, but I love that tags enable people to list any particular kinks. Like, putting "size kink", "dirty talk", and "bondage" in the summary would just clutter things up, but putting them in the tags is much easier. (Plus you can just search for those if you're not picky about fandoms.)

eh, I prefer to have the tags. On AO3 you can search by pairing, but on ffnet you can only search by character, and when I search for fics with my 2 fav characters, half of the fics I find have one of the characters + an OC/self insert as the mains.

Because sometimes we like to write porn. Simples. Also Superwholock is usually tagged for avoidance and I've seen zero SJW crap (sounds more like tumblr than A03) - how would that happen, in comments? I thought the problem was no-one writes comments.

FFN has THE most pointlessly awkward interface. That's also why.
