I see the same thing a lot too. There's a couple people I follow on Tumblr who I always see complaining about representation but all their fanworks and stuff is white cock everywhere you look. The type of people who will complain about not enough female characters or characters of color and then make giant gifsets off the Avengers cast + Coulson that conveniently exclude Black Widow and Nick Fury.

Slightly OT but good god, I hate the gifsets and manips that exclude the Black Widow! Fury I can somewhat forgive seeing as he's technically not an Avenger (though it's annoying when they include Coulson, but whatever. After the movie there were a lot of people who though Fury was TEH EV0L and Coulson an honourary Avengers, so fine), but Natasha? SHE'S PART OF THE TEAM. LITERALLY. PART. OF. THE. TEAM.

There was a shot where they were all assembled in the movie, ready to kick alien ass. You know who was there together with your precious male hereos? Natasha. Not Couslon, or even fucking Loki. N A T A S H A. And then there's that absolute bullshit excuse of "oh, but it doesn't look good if there's an an odd number of gifs!". Guess what! There's an even number of people in the Avengers! Maybe if you wouldn't try so hard to shoehorn your precious Loki onto the team you even would have had space to include an actual teammember!

If it's a superhero team thing deliberately excluding the female members, I call it Weenie Squad.

"Well, I was hoping they'd have Avengers merch, but it's all Weenie Squad."

"Where's the Justice League stuff? All I see is Weenie Squad."

It doesn't really do anything, but it makes me feel a bit better.
