It depends on the fandom. For instances, my crossovers do better on AO3 and TTH. They don't do particularly well on AO3.

But, if I compare my kudos to reviews rating on AO3 to my alerts to reviews on FF.net, it's about the same ratio. (I picked kudos and alerts since I generally assume that both things indicate that someone has read the fic, unlike the favorites or bookmarks functions.)

What it sounds like - they get an e-mail when you update that fic. (There are also alerts for when an author posts anything to their account but I didn't include those.)

Ahh, so it's potentially a useful measure if you post a lot of multichapter fics.
