That's because it is cue-pawn :D
Hearing my Russian exchange student try to pronounce coupon was the funniest thing ever. She ended up giving it a French nasal N.

My friends say it's coupon like how you say grey poupon, so like coo-pawn?

I'm glad to have some validation though.

I was told growing up that it works either way, cue- or coo-. I think the dictionary lists both. Personal preference.
