Wait, are we talking about like reccing yourself on crack_van or reccing yourself when someone is looking for a story that's like one you've written? I could see where making a post in a community just to rec yourself could be a dick move, but I've always found it annoying when someone on a storyfinder community is looking for a certain kind of fic and someone who has written that kind of fic is all, "Oh, I hope you don't mind self recs". I just don't think the person who is looking for fic cares that you wrote it and you're telling them about it, they just want someone to tell them about it.
