I don't self-rec because well, I write a lot of porn (usually PWP's) and I know that most people want recs of fics that have a bit more substance to them. But if someone's looking for a certain kink that I've written for with a certain pairing, then I may mention offhandedly that I might have what they're looking for.

But I've seen people who can't do anything else but gush about their own fanfic and how they wish they could say what's going to happen next and they just go on and on and on about their writing and well... It gets old fast. And it makes you want to read whatever they're blathering on about even less.

The best feeling is getting recced by other people.
