Think Terminator but not universally evil. Some are just puppets. But often, they have autonomous programming. Usually based off the brain patterns of some important figure, alive or deceased.

Though every so often the existential crisis of their existence if they become aware of their true nature (though many are popped non-sentient or with full awareness of themselves) can trigger... unpleasentries.
