I feel similarly, OP.

I've just come to accept that I'll never really get the super-duper-excited rush that some people get in fandom. I'm just more laid-back about it - and you know what?

That's okay! It's good to have people who can calm down and withdraw a bit from fandom, to bring a bit of reality to the situation. (Frankly, some fandoms need more people who are relaxed about it all.)
