True, and that's how the show started out, sampling bits and pieces of all kinds of myths and legends that are part of the supernatural in the U.S., including angels and demons. Then the Abrahamic stuff started pretty much bullying all the other myths out of priority, until watching the show became like being in a particularly imaginative but still quite biased in favor of scripture church service for me, instead of getting an indifferent view of Judeo-Christian myths where they're no more particularly significant than any other story of deities or spirits except for how long it took the brothers to beat them, and then we'd move on to a new source of myths for the main stories and big bads. But...never happened. And we're still in Sunday school, with a few lunch breaks for minor pagan shit between the major league biblical shit.

This, oh so fucking much. The Abrahamic just took over and snuffed out other mythologies for the most part when it came to the overall mytharcs. And that's why my interest faded. I found the other myths much more interesting.

At least Sleepy Hollow was upfront about incoporating Christian mythos. Instead of of waiting a couple of seasons and having it just take over the show.

Really? :\ I was thinking about getting into it, since it was recced recently. Guess I'll pass.

Ayrt

Yeah, really. While I was slightly disappointed, I don't mind it so much I'm rather fond of the characters and how they play off each other. Tbh I don't mind Christian mythos in media and I can enjoy different takes on it. I just hated dow it just overtook Supernatural.
