is there a word that irks you

(Anonymous) 2013-11-14 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Is there a term that when you see it used you get annoyed and get an idea of the person using it (that may very well be wrong" based on your experiences of it in the past?

For me it's "asspats" I'm sorry but like 8 times out of 10 when I see someone using that word seriously I get the idea that they're a reactive passive aggressive shitstirrer who makes a career out of being angry about things and cannot tolerate the existence of an opinion that makes them angry. They come up and make a snide comment about "you want asspats for this?" I just URGH I hate the word.

Also...for anyone who is trying to be clever. No I did not state this opinion expecting to be literally or metaphorically patted on the ass

For some reason, "precious" as a negative adjective, to mean "excessively or pretentiously nice/cute." I'm aware that it's one of the actual and correct definitions of the word, but that doesn't stop it from annoying the shit out of me.
