Ignoring the train to crazytown, I agree re: trans* headcanons. Especially when, "Girl character acts like a boy! Girl really wants to be a boy! GIRL IS TOTALLY FTM TRANS*!" Can we just... not? Girl dressing up as a boy to hide that she's a girl =/= trans* character. I've seen it a lot with Arya Stark.

I act pretty dudely. Do I want to be a male? No. Not ever. I just like doin' dudely things because I can.

The stereotyping is bothersome. But I think it's kinda worse when there's not even a hint the character might ve trans*. Like, half of the WTNV fandom is convinced Carlos is FTM. And they can be nasty if you voice disagreement, or even perplexity.
