It was never going to revolutionize the genre but by god the movie was just so much fun. I did not expect it to be as entertaining as it was.

Yesss. I was so apprehensive when I went to watch it because I adored the first one but I was afraid all the Hiddleston/Loki hooplah would take over and it would be a Loki!!!! type movie. But no! He was still great (and I actually liked him the whole way through) but Thor was wonderful and I adored Jane and Darcy and poor Intern and, just. I REALLY FREAKING LOVED IT A LOT. AAAAHHHH.

The only thing I didn't like was Frigga's death, boo.

yeah I was just =/ at Frigga's death because it felt like cheap drama to me. Not only did they fridge her but I got a bit of spiderman dejavu because i could see parallels between friggas death and uncle bens.

But they did give her an epic burial scene and her death was what drew Loki into the plot so...

Her burial scene was excellent and I guess her death was necessary to draw Loki into the plot but at the same time, UGH I didn't want her to die to serve as pain for Loki. :|

DA

She could have just got seriously hurt and they could have just needed some "magic thing"/"destroy the evil!elves" to save her and that would work for Loki too - so, yeah, that was lazy and not entirely necessary at all.

I went to the midnight premier in the UK and it was such an all round FUN experience that I came out thinking it was one of my favourite MCU films. But I went to see it again to make sure it wasn't to do with the atmosphere and nope, still one of my favourites. It has lots of issues sure, but I just enjoyed the ride.

I know this is all personal opinion but I really do not get the Rotten Tomatoes score being the worst (I think?) MCU film and I think I enjoyed it more than Iron Man 3, even though I was apparently one of those weirdos who didn't hate that film.

This!! I enjoyed it for what is was!! Was it Captain America serious and good? Nope, but it was sure hella fun. Reminded me a bit of the first Iron Man film, which had it's moments of fun to balance out the serious.
