If you liked Orphan Black, you're very likely to enjoy Fringe as there are definite parallels. It starts off quite monster-of-the-week and takes a little while to find its direction; I think things get interesting around 1x7 and great at 1x14. Olivia Dunham is a great addition to the SF heroine roster, and over the course of the series Anna Torv gets to show tremendous range in the role (much, much more than I initially expected).

Olive is in my Top Ten. Seriously, she's the greatest. And I love her dear little sock cap..

Anna Torv is fantastic! I actually put off watching the show at first because I watched the first couple episodes and really didn't like her performance. But then I gave it another try and she is really fantastic in it after that point. She improves so, so much (or makes better acting choices, or whatever you want to call it). Great character as well.

I've been dismissing Fringe, but googling it I think I was mixing Fringe up with some kind of CSI Gilmore Girl's mix up. Time to give it a go, because that summary is not what I thought it was

I would totally watch CSI Gilmore Girls. O___O Having just been discussing downthread my interest in Fringe with a mother-daughter dynamic, I am curious as to what you were thinking of there too.

Fringe is sort of "X-Files meets Altered States."
