I absolutely love this movie. Loki was great (I wasn't a big Loki fan either, but damn do I love him now), but so were Thor and Jane and Darcy imo <3 And Frigga, she was absolutely awesome, too!

And sure, it's not a movie that will win any prestigious awards, but it is just such a fun superhero flick and out of all Marvel movies, I only liked the Cap one better (but then again, Steve and Bucky are my faves, so no surprise there^^)

Man, you must feel so lonely liking the Captain America movie best. :< I've only seen that one get mediocre reviews or regular hate (but even though I like Thor's story better, I also really liked the Cap movie).

Hehe, yeah, I feel kind of lonely sometimes with my opinion, but then again there's my dvd and rewatches and *happy sigh*.
And yeah, Thor is a real darling, too, and his movies were both lovely (and I'm just so in love with 'the dark world'!)

Really? D:

I feel that out of all the "first" movies, Captain America was the strongest in plot and character, with Iron Man coming second, Hulk third, and Thor fourth.

Now, I like most of them (and their sequels) outside Hulk (i'm just...NOT a fan of his movie. and i liked ruffalo better), but I still maintain that Captain America was the best of them all.

Though Captain America is the one I watch the least of them all...I like lighthearted movies best, which is why I enjoy Iron Man and Thor, but I still like it and feel punched in the gut over it's story.

Really what? That people don't seem to like Captain America or that I like Thor better?

If it's the first one, yeah, Captain America is apparently the "boring" avenger so who gives a crap about his origin story. Or something. I've seen a lot of "he's so boring unless we're shipping him with someone!" sentiment but that's just my personal experience. I love Cap. :<

BUT. I do like Thor and his origin movies better, lmao! I go for sheer entertainment and his entertain me a lot more.

I totally agree about Hulk, Ruffalo is my favorite and until he gets his own origin movie, idgaf about any Hulk movies. :T

You hit the nail on the head on why I think Cap gets panned. There's a lot of people I think that either 1. Dislike anything that isn't brand spanking new and therefore have no interest in a story set in the 40s or 2. fall into that "Cap is boring" bullshit and never bother climbing out to see what's actually going on in the story.

Also... god can we STOP with origins stories? They don't change. Ruffalo's Hulk has the same origin story as every other Hulk. I'd love to see a Ruffalo Hulk movie but I like him more because we didn't have to rehash the same shit all over again just because the role was recast. Let's move on.

We can stop with origin stories once Hulk gets a non-shitty one. And once Black Widow and Hawkeye get one.

Actually I just really like origin stories a whole hell of a lot.

Not sure I liked the Cap film more than Thor, but I can tell you that I liked it almost just as much in any case, and that I adore Steve and Bucky and just generally love them as much as Thor and Loki. I know fandom likes to hate on that movie, but man, idec. As excited as I became for Thor: The Dark World, I'm somehow even more excited for Winter Soldier.

GIVE ME ALL THE BUCKY!

(Anonymous) 2013-11-15 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I won't lie, Winter Soldier is the movie I'm most excited about in years (or: how Steve and Bucky ruined this anon's life and Natasha and Sam will probably make everything even worse - the true story :D ).

And also: oh my gosh your icon, it's so lovely and mesmerizing...

I'm with you! I even read a bit of the comics in preparation for Winter Soldier and that got me even more excited. Can't wait for all the Steve/Bucky goodness. And more Natasha is always a good thing too, imo. I look forward to seeing how her and Steve's relationship progresses. Sam I'm not TOO familiar with (just remember him a tiny bit from the comics), but I look forward to being acquainted!

Isn't Bucky always? :p

Frigga was fantastic and the only thing that annoys me about her is the fact that they killed her off.

Thor is still my favourite lead-in movie for the Avengers but that's because Thor and Loki are my faves, Steve and Bucky are good though, I'm looking forward to seeing what Winter Solider brings. :)

spoiler for Thor 2!

(Anonymous) 2013-11-15 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Frigga dying was my least favourite part of the movie (well, the only thing I actually disliked tbh), but at least she did die in such a heroic way.
Still would have very much preferred it if her death had been a fake-out and she'd somehow magically survived...

I couldn't decide what I felt about killing Frigga. She was badass, then died really easily for a god. But I wasn't quite attached enough to feel anything about her funeral, because it was too early in the movie. And the funeral was pretty, but then felt too long. It wasn't a bad move, but very clearly done to give Loki the middle finger and was more of a plot device than genuine. I would've developed her more and had her do more shit before dying.

These are my thoughts too, I don't like that she went out, but she went down fighting. And playing Malekith to boot.
