My guess? Dark Elf weapons are science-magic that can kill an alien god? Hulk just used brute strength.

I mean, yeah, that's sort of the assumption you have to make. But I still think it's dumb. Also it up until that point, it was such a great inversion of viewer expectations. Like, oh no, they've cornered Jane and Frigga! Oh wait, Jane not really there! Oh wait, Frigga can fight a bit! Oh wait, Frigga is QUEEN OF ASGARD, and she will KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS. She just straight-up trounces Malekith, it's not even close, she's just cold better than him.

And the she dies because the plot requires to.

Such a disappointment.

Yeah, I hate to say it but I agree with you on everything. (Especially Frigga kicking ass. I like how her fighting style mirrored Loki's. Confirming who was mom's favorite.)

The most frustrating part is that despite being perfectly aware that this was blatant fridging/audience manipulation, I was still kind of upset when she died. :-/

Oh it's a grand tradition in comics related anything. /sarcasm

Look up "fridging". She's not the first nor the last, I'm sure.
