One is open-world exploration sandbox with RPG elements. The other is Baldur's Gate 4.

okay. doesn't mean they weren't compared to death the year they came out. it's not exactly a random comparison.

Doesn't mean they were, either. I do read all the major gaming sites and hang out on forums, and I don't really recall a lot of "DA2 vs Skyrim!" -- especially since they were released at opposite ends of the year.

If the games were more similar I could see a comparison coming about, but they're completely different games outside of being fantasy. Nobody's comparing Skyward Sword to Skyrim despite both games being fantasy and coming out within 2 weeks of each other.

I don't remember too much "Skyrim vs. DA2" either. "DA2 vs. The Witcher 2" though, that was big and ragey.
