Okay. I adore canon Scott, prefer asshole Derek to every version of him I've seen fic of (which doesn't say much since I'm not that much of a Derek fan), and canon Stiles is pretty much perfect just the way he is.

And that's totally cool. There are things I love about the show that get changed in fanfic (like Stiles being named Genim - ugh). And pretty much however someone wants to enjoy the show is awesome, as long as they're having fun. Plus the fandom wouldn't as be fun if everyone wrote/drew the same characters with the same characterizations all the time, so any different interpretations mostly just lead to more and different fanworks, which will always be the best thing (to me at least).
