Well, it's a bit Sci-fi like I suppose but no lady lead, but many awesome ladies in the show. (Jo being my fav) I suggest Eureka. It's a shows about U.S Marshall Jack Cater ending up in the small town Eureka which is filled with geniuses and scientists from all over the world. His jobs is to stop science experiments that from destroying the town. It's a pretty fun shows. It's already finished.
