Nope! The vocalizing of rhythms you did was probably the Kodaly method (which I've never really come into contact with besides just knowing what it is.) the Orff method uses some of that at the beginning, but the most recognizable and important part of it is the use of percussion instruments, usually pitched ones. Orff ensembles usually involve a lot of kids playing on xylophones and glockenspiels.

Aww, we could've used some glockenspiels and xylophones! Thank you for satisfying my curiosity, though, and good luck with your paper.
