Do you honestly think that would sell well enough to keep the series running? Horrible fact that it probably wouldn't, yes. But it's unlikely that it would.

Because just as various POCs rightfully think that they are under-represented, your average white person is going to look at a book made up of entirely POCs and think "this isn't for me".

Yeah, because no white people enjoy anime/manga series where the characters are all PoC, nope (inuyasha, rurouni kenshin, etc)

I'm pretty sure a chunk of western fans assume anime/manga characters are white anyways.

Anime doesn't count, because white racists see those characters as white. I mean, this shit comes up all the time.

White racists? Are you sure it isn't 'I assume this person is most like myself'?

People constantly read any character with brown hair and brown eyes as being non-white, even though it's the most common color combination for all ethnicities including white people. Not as an intentional SJW thing, but just because that's how they read that coloration. If people see a blonde-haired, blue-eyed character as being white...well. That's totally understandable.

yeah that would be cool

but i guess it's not happening in this comic, so might as well look at it on its own merits instead of rejecting it out of hand for only having a female POC lead and a primarily POC cast instead of an exclusively POC cast

I assure you tho, the two people arguing against it are on tumblr most of the time.

You could ask an entire not-white majority country and they wouldn't care. In fact they'd probably be able to give you examples of their own country's media in which there isn't a white person in sight.

But, oh, right, every person of color has to pay attention to U.S. centric activism and agree with it, otherwise we have soooo much internalized racism.

Why would they? She lives in America, is a teen that goes to school. I mean I'm assuming this guy isn't her only friend. You really expect an American minority to have NO white associations?

Logically- how could it happen? I mean...

1) This is the Marvel universe. Interactions between characters of different series is very frequent. Most of these characters are white.

2) She idolizes Carol. Carol is white. There's already one white person in the premise.

This wasn't going to be a PoC only book and it should've been obvious from the get go.
