There was a post going around a while ago about which kinds of posts were more likely to get eaten, and the only one I remember (because it was the only one I ever do) was putting ellipses into the ask.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-17 05:37 am (UTC)(link)Yes, this. My school's email system does this all the time--and somehow it seems to happen only to things that are actually important. I've had my emails to professors and HR disappear into nothingness, to the point where, if I don't hear back quickly from someone, I immediately begin to worry that they never got it. Not one but two "urgent" emails from HR to me disappeared the same way--not in my inbox, not in my spam file, not in my trash--zip, zero and zilch. TBH it's a wonder I even have a job. When I went to take it up with the IT guys, they were like "What do you expect us to do about it?"
