Haha, how far are you? Once you travel into the hard sections there's metal everywhere! (For the first ten hours I had practically no metal and had difficulty believing I would ever have enough for anything.) I don't believe I've ever seen a ship with over 150 or 200 metal on it. If you want all the upgrades you've got to plunder a lot of ships. :(

I like the Assassin tombs! And the Lairs of Romulus. I miss those, but the underwater wrecks and smugglers dens are really cool too.

I totes get you. I love getting to sail around to the different cities and villages and ruins. Plus... The shanties. I can't stop singing them. Just constantly singing them. I LOVE MY CREW.

Completed main story, but only started targeting man o' wars and getting the elite upgrades.
Same here! those tombs/Lairs/discs/map locations were fuckin glorious. And I desperately want to learn the lyrics to the shanties!

The Man o' Wars are really daughting. I held off on attacking them for a long while because I was afraid of getting slaughtered. I can take the 30-40's ones easily now, but I wonder how far the levels go. Are you gonna try to take down the legendary ships? I might try it soon. (And undoubtedly fail.)

How did you like the main story, btw? Are you a big fan of Edward? I'm curious as to if things pick up a lot in the later half of the game. (I want some actual assassin and templar stuff, people.)

Until recently every time I see a MO'W the level thing was in the red, and a couple of times I would get wrecked by them. I'll leave the legendaries for when I have enough upgrades to take them on.

Edward's pretty cool, I think. I was quite interested in his neutrality in the Assassin/Templar conflict (Revelations and III made a good job of the Templars being morally grey, and it continues in this installment) until a certain point in the game. As for the Sage, he's an asshole, but an interesting asshole.

I'm at least glad to hear he doesn't stay neutral the entire game. It seems like he's going to have to pick a side eventually.
