Re: Looking for DW 50th spoilers (Warning: Spoilers)

Hmm, but buried in the news roundup, indicates there will be video inserts of One through Three. (No Four?) So I'm guessing it will be similar to The Three Doctors with One, or The Five Doctors, with One and Four, in that respect? Combined with Moffat's admission he's been lying (I'm sorry--when has the man ever told the truth? I must have missed that ten second window.), maybe it will be a proper 50th?

Hey, even I realize how delusional that sounds! But it's DW, can you blame me for not wanting it to completely jump the shark 100% for once and for all?

I'd like the real Doctors on the show. Video inserts don't cut it (but it is better than nadda). Like I get that they'd be way older, but I don't care! They can be old men sitting at a park talking and 11 can be like "oh you guys look familiar" and they'd make a in-show joke and everyone would laugh.

Moffat is a lying liar who lies. That is the only truth I know about him.

I'm all for jumping the shark! It's the 50th. All sharks should be jumping through hula hoops with tutus on.

Meh, I get the point, though, they can't quite pull off the "haven't regenerated yet but look older than I do when I did" thing, even though this is Moffat we're talking about, who expects the bleating fans to believe six impossible things before the first commercial break (and forget them all before the next), and he seems to think everyone who watches the idiot box doesn't actually think, at least based on how he writes.

IDK, I think the worst part about the 50th is that it's been written by Moffat. Therefore guaranteed to be an ADHD-fueled rollercoaster orgy of meaningless sights and sounds to nowhere and back, with frantic handwaving and mile-a-minute props (both plot and character) just to try and distract the viewer in ten-second increments that, no, this isn't actually as much of a hot mess as it seems, why would you ask that? "LOOK ZYGONS!" Wait12isn't12but11is12andhere'sJohnHurtlooklook! "Look! 10! Shiny!" etc.

Jump the shark and retcon both 6 and Crispy!Master from Deadly Assassin? Sure, I'm not too put off by that. What really depresses me is just how breakneck-zany-off-the-rails it's going to be, without being actually, y'know, coherent. Because Moffat.

Clara's season suffered so much from hand waving, fast talking and incoherency. It made me sad.

I'm waiting for Moffat to gtfo. It can't come soon enough.

I couldn't even get through reading the plot synopses of recent episodes without getting mental whiplash. You KNOW it's bad, when a cut-and-dried, chronological recap of the episodes read like some kind of never-ending Ritalin-overdosed bad trip.
