I once worked at a test scoring facility. Me and four hundred other people scored standardized tests from around the U.S. The company was decent and realized that sitting in front of a computer and clicking a button for hours every day was mind numbing and not that great, so they gave us 15 minutes every few hours to go and take a walk. There was a small pond out back that had geese, turtles and ducks.

Personally, my favorites were the turtles. They were just sittin' around, relaxin' all cool, doing their turtle thing. But they didn't approach us very often. The ducks did, and they were the popular favorites. I hadn't been near in a duck in years, so I'm staring and it, and it's staring at me. I'm like, 'what up, duck?'

Then the feathery little bastard nipped at my fingers, made me drop the last few bites of my sandwich, and then made off with said piece of sandwich. So yeah, ducks are jerks. (I was also rushed by a honking goose, but I honked back and chased it away. I refuse to be frightened by a Christmas dinner.)

I was chased by a swan when I was a kid. One wandered up onto the path while I was walking past their pond, and I was too young to think to give the bastard a wide berth.
