One of the reasons I more or less stopped posting to LJ altogether: personal friends but not fandom friends would complain when I wrote entries about fandom, fandom friends but not RL friends would complain when I wrote about RL.

Oh, that's crappy of people, and not what I meant at all. It's not so much a matter of lack of fandom as it is what RL stuff is being posted. On both FB and LJ, there's a tendency for people to post very mundane things, without any real purpose behind it. I don't think I'm alone in not caring that someone got a new hat unless there's an interesting detail or story about that hat, you know?
