I'm having trouble picturing this character I'm writing about. I've tried looking at stock photos online but they're all too pretty and photoshopped. Does anybody have any good places for pictures/visual aids that they use? I feel kind of weird staring at real people for inspiration.

Try doodling them even if you're not very good.

I use polyvore to come up with outfits for characters.

I second the doll maker idea. I like the ones on www.dolldivine.com. The LotR ones has the most options but the GoT one is good too.

Doll Divine is a good place to find doll makers. I personally am fond of the ones done in conjunction with Azalea, like the Tudor, GoT, and LotR ones.
