Do you ship things you're not in the fandom for?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
The last Marvel movie I saw was the first Iron Man, and I don't read the comics. But I know enough about movie-verse Avengers from tumblr to get the gist of it, and lately I've been liking the Frostiron art that's been showing up on my dash.

Oh man, I would watch a show just centered around these two.

I basically just watched a super cut of them because they are all I care about in the show.

This isn't an answer to your question, but I saw "Frostiron" and it took me awhile to figure out who you meant by it, because my first instinct was Emma Frost/Tony Stark, as they had a thing in comics.

As to an answer, not really? As usually I like to know the characters canonically to cake about a ship. I know others do it too. (And based on things I've heard about Teen Wolf, at least, it does seem to be a fairly popular thing to do.)

I've seen maybe six episodes of Adventure Time. Exactly one of them had Marceline in it. And yet, I am a Bubbline shipper.

I haven't played Dragon Age (yet) but being a Mass Effect fan puts me on the edge of that fandom, and a few of the people I follow reblog shippy art of two of the characters. I know next to nothing about them but the art is so pretty. and so are the characters. so yes, I suppose I am the most shallow of fans, shipping something for the pretty when I don't even know anything about it. >_>

(i also sort of get the impression that this is one of those things that you probably shouldn't ship, but whenever i get around to actually playing the game i am likely going to be predisposed to shipping it anyway and bound for disappointment. whoops)
