There is no truly ironic furry.

I'm a furry and even I am unaware of what an "ironic" furry is.
There are a lot of hipstery type kids in the fandom these day, but they're all pretty much party types and seem to be there more for the crazy fun parties and booze that happen at cons and not just to be ironic (whatever that would be).

You are also aware that not all furries wear fursuits, and those that do will not be the "ironic" ones, suits can easily cost over $2000, you're not picking those up lightly.

I don't really get the point of "liking something ironically" if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't.

Of course ....liking things but being self aware of how they might be off putting to others is different. But...liking something for the sake of being ironic just seems...dishonest and pointless

I kind of get what you mean. I watch a lot of people on FurAffinity who draw "funny" furry art that is clearly meant to parody the fandom. But I sometimes wonder if they even consider themselves furries and are doing it to poke fun of themselves, or if they only got an account as a joke so they could make parody furry art to make fun of furries.
