Half the shows Tumblr seems to be into these days have some ugly as crap art styles.

I dunno if they're good, but going off design alone I'd say "Nope."

They're probably pointing out the fact that you enjoy a show that looks like a higher quality flash animation while knocking a hand-animated (to the point where body proportions can be out of whack) show from someone coming out of the AT crew.

I assume, anyway.

I only wish the OP had put in the background art to compare with the characters. I don't think these designs are the best thing I've ever seen, but the backgrounds could have come out of Ico/SotC. Especially the moon tower and their temple:
