According to my Law textbook, Britain is whiter than the US. I could be mistaken though. But I'm pretty sure these people consider Brit shows 'white people shows' too.

The only place where any serious filming occurs in the UK is one of if not the most multicultural city in the world.

Oh yes, that's very true! I didn't think of that. My Law lecturer told us of the time he parked himself on London Bridge and just watched the people go by, he was so fascinated by the diversity of the people there.

Oh no doubt they do. I'm just commenting on OP's choice of wording, because most of these people DO consume 'media outside the US' and in fact a lot of it.
