I have never in my life met an adult with legible handwriting. ...ok, that's hyperbole, but a lot of the time I have trouble reading older people's handwriting. Doesn't help that my dad's a doctor, but my mom's illegible, and they always got on my case if I couldn't read something of theirs correctly.

Though I do have to admit that older (or other, at least)types of dancing were cooler. Stuff like dance crews are awesome, don't get me wrong, but I just don't get club dancing.

This probably wouldn't have gone over well, but I can't help thinking that the proper response to this would've been, "Then don't write it with your feet!"

I trot out this story whenever someone laments the penmanship of the young: In junior high, I had a field trip scheduled for a day when my mother was going to be at a work event and away from her office and thus would not be reachable at the contact number in my file in case of emergency. (My dad had a mobile business at the time and this was before cell phones were prevalent, so it was likely he'd be unreachable.) She attached a note to the permission slip giving an alternate contact number, and it was so illegible that the teacher had to call her at her usual number the day before to get her to read the new number off to him. She's given me a lot less crap about my handwriting since then.
