Be as graceful with them as you can, and try to understand why they're doing the things that they're doing. If you think you might snap at them during a face-to-face conversation, probably a wiser choice would be to write them a letter or email or something like that. Then you can air out all your concerns, read it over and reword things if you want so you sound open to discussion (which is, naturally, what you want! Without discussion, nobody's going to learn anything). Then they can take the time to think about it and reply.

Oh I do try this. My Inbox is stuffed full of the twenty-page sermons I regularly receive in response. :-(
