My mother's high school English teacher once took the stage at a school assembly to bemoan the meaningless of the music that The Kids Today were listening to. In her day, pop music had real, important lyrics. Songs were poetry back then, and she was about to prove it. She then launched into a dramatic reading of "I Am the Walrus."
