Re: Orson Scott Card

The thing about Orson Scott Card book series is that most of them start off sensible and, as the series continues, get progressively more bizarre (even if you aren't looking for the intrusion of his prejudices). Coming at the beginning of a series, Ender's Game is about as sane as he gets.

If I recall correctly, for a book published in 1985 it's unobjectionable.

...although I recall being really annoyed with the implication that it was oppressive to limit families to two kids to control population growth.
