That reminds me a bit of one of my old roommates. She would get very irritated when I did things like watch TV with the sound low when she was trying to study or stay up studying with my desk lamp on when she was trying to sleep and she would quite angrily tell me to knock it off and threaten to lodge complaints against me. Then she'd turn around and have loud phone conversations or re-arrange her furniture late at night when I was trying to sleep or study and when I'd ask her not to do those things, she'd flip out and act like I was a bossy bitch.

Through it all, she acted syrupy-sweet and overly polite to everyone and it took people a while to realize she was a spoiled, self-absorbed, thinned-skinned diva who couldn't handle it when people didn't treat her like a princess. (When they did realize it, they'd just start avoiding her, but I didn't have that option.) It kept me off balance, because I couldn't really process the idea of someone who acted so nice but was so selfish and could be so mean. In retrospect, it was like I was being gaslighted, although I don't think she was consciously trying to do that.

My advice: if you can't get a chance to talk to your RA, go straight to the residence director or find another RA in your dorm and ask for advice. Also, always bring your keys when you leave, even if just for a second, so you can't get locked out in "revenge."
