getting annoyed at atheists for being dumb dicks on the internet =/= oppression

esp when many people mocking them are probably also atheists (and also the initial person was probably a troll so this is really just a pointless debate overall) (and we call the act... The Internet!)

There's a difference between saying "I don't believe in a heaven", "I think it's unlikely that there's a heaven," "There's no evidence for a heaven", "There's no heaven", and "Hahaha there's no fucking heaven you dumb idiot sheeple, deal w/ it."

What I'm saying is that thinking heaven doesn't exist is not dickish, but there are ways of translating that opinion into life that are. And, I think, people tend to leap to assumptions and to see certain statements in the worst light. Like responding to someone making a comment about religion that they clearly believe in with the flat statement that heaven isn't real.

And seriously, why is your personal belief or lack thereof in heaven a necessary, totally relevant, obligatory response to someone else's feelings about heaven? I'm sure that OP is aware of the idea that some people don't believe in heaven - what makes it necessary to assert your own unbelief in the specific context of this conversation?

saying there is no heaven in and of itself does not necessarily make you a dumb dick. Saying there is no heaven in a patronizing manner ("Don't worry") in response to a PERSONAL SECRET makes you a dumb dick, and if you don't see why then I suggest you go back to kindergarten and review the lesson on manners.
