Psst, it's "Almost Human" "Being Human" has a vampire, werewolf and a ghost as roommates. (Both the UK and US versions.) Though each of those shows is awesome.

And I like to call Almost Human the "Pretty Eyes Show" because I keep on missing dialog because I fall into Urban and Ealy's pretty, pretty eyes.

YES, sheesh. I actually watched and loved the original pilot of 'Being Human', and then they switched the ghost and vampire actors out for new ones and i totally hated them.

Heeee! Omg, i know. So, so pretty.

Is the American version of Being Human any good? I loved the UK version to bits, but I only watched the first episode of the US version and it seemed too Twilight-y for me. Does it get better?

Nope.

Be gone. Being Human UK was a mess of a show. Any remake would be an improvement.

It was a beautiful mess with lovable characters. And then they all died and we got a new batch of equally lovable characters and a completely different mess, and it was still great.

I'll give you the characters was the show's strong point but the rest? The supernatural mythology? The big pile of continuity errors? The cheesy random plot lines? Nope.

Yes. The US starts out like the UK one but half way through the season they go their own way. For example, the American version of George, Josh, starts off George-ish but by the end of the season he has become the house's mother figure and is more like Annie than George. The American version of Annie, Sally, starts off like Annie but at the end, she's is not one bit the mother figure Annie is but is like the house's little sister who loves to hang out with her "brothers" watch sci-fi/horror movies and talk just as raunchy as them. The American version of Mitchel is Aidan, and while he started off as Mitchell, he has become the house's father figure and is more of a psychopath that can hide in plain sight.

The US version really plays up on the supernatural genre. Going to places the UK never did. (The third season has zombies!) If you are a horror-comedy fan, watch it. Allow the show to kick in half way through the first season (that would be when Josh returns home to his parent's house.)

Here's a clip from the second season that sums up the US version well. (No major spoilers here, really.) One moment you have melodrama, the next comedy and BAM! it's bringing the horror.

The best thing about this show is when the three mains are just hanging out and talking. The comedic timing and ad libbing is fantastic. (They were so good at it from the get go that the producers had to tell them to reign it in the first few episodes of season one because they were supposed to be strangers with each other.)
