First, not a fetish. I think in saying that it's obvious you don't really understand the label.

Second, try thinking of it as part of the asexual spectrum. Wait, unless asexuality is also a problem for you. Then I don't know what to say.

I define fetish as something that as something that has to exist for attraction to occur. Unless I'm wrong here, someone who is demisexual is someone who incapable of being attracted to someone unless they're emotionally close to them. Thus an emotional closeness fetish.

I don't have an issue with asexuality, btw. I do have an issue with pansexual as label, however.

"demisexuality" is by definition not asexuality

you only feel sexual attraction to those you have a strong emotional tie to? congratulations! asexuals by definition don't feel sexual attraction at all! (exceptions notwithstanding)
