She's my favourite too! Well, sharing that spot with Mulan, anyways.

I don't want to start wank or anything, but why don't people like Tiana or the movie?

A lot of people don't like that she spent so much of the story as a frog, which is a legitimate complaint, I think. I personally found the storyline kind of stretched, like they realized they didn't have enough content to fill the time between Tiana getting turned into a frog and the climactic confrontation with Facilier, so they sort of stuffed in some filler and hoped nobody would notice. None of the songs really grabbed me, and the whole thing just felt kind of... small. Which is fine, not every story needs to be epic and sweeping, but it felt like the movie could've been more than it was.

I did like Tiana as a character, though. I just wish she'd gotten a better movie.

I'm okay with Tiana, but the movie and music bored both me and the little sister. Same deal with Rapunzel as well, we watched it and were bored (time honored tradition of oldest watching new disney princesses with the youngest).

idk I guess it didn't click with either of us, we just didn't find it memorable or really care or like the music.

For me it was the music. I mean, the songs aren't bad, and I actually really do like them, but it didn't really feel very "New Orleans"y to me, personally.

If anyone has any recommendations for good Jazz music, I'd love to hear them.

Plus, like other people have said, the fact that Tiana was a frog for most of the movie was a little off putting.

Yeah, the music made the movie disappointing to me as well. It wasn't the songs were awful. They were just bland. And given the material the producers had to work with, NEW ORLEANS! JAZZ! BLUE! RAGTIME! It was a damn shame they went with such a boring score.

Tiana who can say, I thought she was great. I thought the prince was great too.

The movie on the other hand. The middle of the movie is a total fucking slog. The beginning and end are pretty good, but all that business with Mama Odie is so fucking tedious and not fun to watch. MO herself is a super annoying character in my opinion, and her song Dig a Little Deeper is the worst song in the movie. It reminded me of the shit songs in Thumbelina. So the problem with the movie is that the 50% in the middle is a terrible movie.

People can make points about her being a frog for a long time or whatever but I think that's the movie's biggest issue. If it was well-written suddenly no one would care (as much).

Pretty much agreed with what everyone above me said. I also felt like there was too much song and not enough story, and that the movie really would've benefited from some longer breaks in between the songs.

I really liked Tiana and the characters but the movie itself was pretty forgettable.
