How? Sometimes people of either gender enjoy things for stupid reasons but it only seems to matter when it's a woman's stupid reason.

Uh no.

1. Men's enjoyment can be generalized into a stupid reason too so why are you focusing on women?
2. Women's interest may not be as shallow as you personally perceive it to be anyway.
3. One of OP's stupid reasons for enjoyment is that they get to pretend to be better than other fans.

Perhaps I should have made it more clear that I was being sarcastic when I responded to a stereotype with another stereotype to point out the flaw in "OP's" secret in my first statement. Were the sarcastic squiggly lines not enough for you?
