Slightly off-topic: Is it just the interviews I've seen or are they kind of awkward together in rl?

JL and Josh Hutcherson seem to mesh so well together, while Liam seems kind of awkward.

I wonder if that's because he's had so little to do in these films (so far).

Like, I've read the books and know Gale's importance is coming up fast, but the way they've been marketing these movies, you'd expect to go in and see Liam play some major role. And. He doesn't. At all. You could have scraped off most of his scenes and I wouldn't have noticed.

Fast meaning the last two movies because he's not hugely prevalent in Catching Fire either.

I love the disconnect between marketing and the actual movie.

the third book will be split into two movies, easy enough to miss!

They're splitting Mockingjay into two parts.

Yeah, Gale was really shafted in the first movie. Haven't seen the second yet, but I hope he plays a bigger role. They're at least kept the whipping scene in, so it looks as though we might see a bit more of him. Definitely in the Mockingjay films.

The problem with filming the books, I think, is that so many important things are only thought by Katniss, if you know what I mean. So much of the backstory as well as Gale's importance to Katniss are things we find out in the books because they're told from her POV, but the movies can't properly convey them without infodumps or voice-overs. (Which, for the record, I'm glad they didn't resort to. I can't stand voice-overs. :/)
