This is my favorite trope in fanfic (especially slashfic) -- the idea that people can be bffs and platonic soulmates for ages without any sexual component, and then adding another layer of intensity and intimacy to their friendship by becoming lovers as well, even if they were happy for years before having any sexual feelings towards another. That sense of rock-solid foundation and security is something I just adore.

Does anyone have recs?

This shows up a lot in the Clint/Coulson pairing in MCU fandom, but a lot of people have problems with that one. Any squick pairings or dynamics you don't want?
