That's pretty great, OP! Best wishes and keep doing what you love. ♥

I can relate to this so much! Throughout high school I stood between choosing European studies (or whatever I shall call it, which is European history, politics and languages) or history. Reading Hetalia, or rather spending time in the decent part of the fandom, made me really realise that history is my passion, and what I really want to do.

You go, OP!

Absolutely nothing wrong with this! I'm glad you were able to find something you're passionate about. :D

Glad to see I'm not the only one in the international law/relations/etc. field whose love for Hetalia in part inspired them to give it a try! (There were other factors, too, of course — but I won't get into those here.) Best of luck getting those EU jobs, OP ❤

Hetalia got me really interested in Hungarian and I'm taking it now and adore the language. I'm so grateful that something sparked that interest. It's not nearly as drastic since it's not life changing, but I'm still very happy that Hetalia had a positive influence on my life like that, and I'll never regret it. I'm happy for you, anon, and everyone else that's found something they truly love via fandom.

Secret 4 - Hetalia: Axis Powers (anime and manga)

[Picture is the cover of the fifth season of the anime "Hetalia: Axis Powers"? It shows the entire cast of the series and has the text: "Beautiful World! Hetalia Axis Powers".]

When I was in Highschool, I didn't know what I really wanted to do. I laid down my choices to two: history and law. I picked law because I wanted to work in EU institutions and that was motivated primarily by Hetalia and its fandom.

Now I'm doing an LLM in International law, loving every second of it and I have no regret whatsoever. I am glad that it was a push in the right direction. (Except homework, that's still a freaking pain.)

EU = European Union, I think?

LLM = The Master of Laws is an advanced academic degree, pursued by those holding a professional law degree, and is commonly abbreviated LL.M, from the Latin Legum Magister (meaning "master of laws").
