For I have found the the Joan/Mycroft storyline makes me even more furious than the Irene/Sherlock one.

YES. Apparently Sherlock has at this point deduced that Joan slept with Mycroft during their visit to London. And everything is being colossally awkward. I want it to go away. It's the randomest romance ever that contributes nothing to the plot and makes the motivations of all the parties involved very questionable.

I might be taking this more seriously if I watched Elementary, but since I haven't (yet), all I can picture is canon!Holmes deducing this about canon!Watson and canon!Mycroft. It's like awesome kinkmeme crackfic fill that's full of terrible mental imagery and probably some dastardly one-liner about a fourth continent.

(uh, what actor plays Elementary!Mycroft again?)

I like your version better than the Elementary storyline :/

That sounds like, well, fanfic. I mean, aren't there quite a good number of BBC Sherlock fanfics where like, Mycroft starts fucking John during the hiatus because Mycroft's a competitive creeptastic creeper and John's like "THIS IS AS CLOSE TO SHERLOCK AS I'LL EVER COME BECAUSE HE'S DEAD NOW."

I don't know, I think I'll have to see how it goes before I say anything about it. I mean, it might have something to do with the plot later. But IA, it is kind of weird (especially as I was a canon fan first and so Watson/Mycroft is...yeah.)

I agree with the anon who said it might have something to do with the plot later. Not that it should necessarily change your mind, I just believe the writers might be setting something up.

I have mixed feelings about it. At first I believed Sherlock was just seeing things, but then Joan and Mycroft confirmed it. Sherlock's reaction bothered me more than the actual pairing, and even if it felt random it isn't ruining anything for me. (At least for now.)
